Planet X: a NEW OBJECT
Steve Havas provided a NEAT image, and DSS image, both FITS files which
require a FITS viewer. The NEAT image needs a vertical flip to align
with Steve's images.
And Pierre-Eric has provided an ESI-DSS, also in FITS format:

Both Steve and Jan identified objects NOT in the comparison images:
Steve'c object, just to the left of Star 4, is new, not an existing
object. The object to the left and down from Star 4 is an existing
object.
I included a BMP file of the NEAT image and you
should be easily able to see the spot there. It seems
the spot that is higher up is either a chunk of noise
or is something new.

Jan's dim third alternative also does not show up, however, on this NEAT
comparison image.
I agree there are 2 objects left of star 4 in the stacked
images vs. one object on the NEAT image. There is
also an object [above Star 3], circled on the attached
images.

And Pierre-Eric's summary FITS files of the images taken on Sep 21, 2002
CLEARLY show Steve's object to the left of Star 4 and also, more dimly,
show Jan's object above Star 3.
