- I was watching the weather channel's local forecast for my area (Grand Rapids, MI) this morning just before sunrise. The weather channel called
for sunrise at 6:08AM both today and tomorrow . I sat, watched and waited for the next several minutes under clear skies on my deck for the sun
to arrive. Well, it finally did, first breaking the horizon at about 6:15 and fully above the horizon at about 6:25AM. Couldn't believe it.
